Brick laid over concrete-base walkway also serves as a driveway approach creating an artful entrance.
The backyard is strategically divided into different zones for relaxation, entertainment and dining.
The two existing steps were clad in stone: "moss back veneer" for the risers, "Arizona flagstone" for the treads hand-hewn with a bull-nose edge. A wood awning creates shade and protection for outdoor dining.

Flagstone steps lead to this quite island in a sea of "Salmon Bay" pebbles. A variety of ground covers and plantings are carefully placed for contrast and texture.
The side of the yard is anchored by a patio. A gas fire pit creates a cozy spot for night chats.
